John A. Douglas was born in Godfrey,Illinois where he spent his childhood until his parents moved to Houston, Texas. Throughout school he excelled in music and art but found music to be his main focus. Upon graduating high school with honors, Douglas was soon touring the country and the far east with various bands as a drummer while dabbling in art as a hobby. After years of touring and releasing 2 albums with Kik Tracee on RCA he discovered his outlet through painting to be more gratifying. From his stunning portraits to his incredible murals and colorful paintings, internationally acclaimed and award winning artist John A. Douglas is in the midst of creating an impressive body of work. He continues to tackle a wide range of subject matter, be it black and white portraiture, celebrity portraits, motorcycles, cars, or colorful wildlife paintings. With works on display at several prominent hotels, restaurants, niteclubs, and businesses as well as dozens of private residences, his paintings continue to elicit a very definite REACTION.
